Perused the affidavit of Shri S. S. Hiremath, Joint Director of Census Operations. The affidavit is in response to the notice of contempt as well as the grievances in the petition. In paragraphs 1 and 14 of the affidavit, Shri S. S. Hiremath has tendered an apology. A copy of the order dated 22nd July, 2015 passed by the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India is annexed to the said affidavit which shows that the population figures as per Census 2011 of Akkalkot, Samarth Nagar and Vasantrao Naik Nagar have been revised. In view of this order, the only grievance made in the petition is taken care of and therefore nothing will SQ Pathan 1/2
wp.7637.14.doc survive in the petition. The apology tendered by Shri S. S. Hiremath deserves to be accepted. Hence, we pass the following order :
ORDER
(i) The apology tendered by Shri S. S. Hiremath, Joint Director of Operations is accepted. The show-cause notice issued under order dated 24th June, 2015 is discharged. (ii) The statements made by Shri S. S. Hiremath in the affidavit are accepted.
(iii) In view of order dated 22nd July, 2015 annexed to the affidavit of Shri S. S. Hiremath, nothing survives in the writ petition, as the grievance made in the petition is taken care of by the said order.
