DATED :

Heard. By this petition, the Petitioner seeks direction against Respondent Nos.1 and 2 to decide their proposal dated 16.03.2012 submitted by the Petitioner society within stipulated time.
The learned AGP for the Respondent submits that they filed an additional affidavit dated 23.10.2018 duly affirmed by Mr. Dinesh Tarachand Waghmare, Secretary to the Government, Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Mumbai stating that the Government will take a policy decision to decide all 449 pending Applications/ proposals as early as possible and preferably on or before March 2019.

8.9836.17-wp.doc The learned AGP relies on paragraph 3 of the said affidavit dated 23.10.2018, which reads thus:
"3.
I say that, in my earlier affidavit dated 11.09.2018, I had pointed out that the State Government has been taken a policy decision as regards all pending 449 proposals for giving financial assistance to the Cooperative Societies of Scheduled Caste and also the steps taken by the State Government in that regard. I say that, the Application made by the Petitioner's society is one of the said pending 449 proposals. And a policy decision in this regard will be taken as early as possible and preferably on or before March, 2019."
In view of the statement made by Mr. Dinesh Tarachand Waghmare, the learned Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra, we are of the opinion that nothing remains in the Writ Petition.
Hence, the Writ Petition stands disposed of with direction to Respondent No.1 to decide the Petitioner's Application dated 16.03.2012 as early as possible, but in any case on or before March 2019. No order as to costs.
