Perused the allegations against the applicant, who is alleged to have been involved in the transportation of illicit liquor. As such, offence under provisions of Sections 65A, 65B, 65D, 65E, 65F, 80, 83, 90 and 108 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act is alleged. 3.

I am informed that there are no antecedents. Maximum punishment provided is below seven years. In view of the judgment of the Apex Court in the case of Arnesh Kumar v. State of Bihar, (2014) 8 SCC 273, a case for grant of protection is made out. 4.

That being so, in the event of arrest of the applicant in Crime No.151 of 2022 registered with State Excise Department Ichalkaranji, District Kolhapur for the offences punishable under Sections 65A, 65B, 65D, 65E, 65F, 80, 83, 90 and 108 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, he be released on bail on executing P.R. Bond in the sum of Rs.25,000/ with one or two sureties in the like amount. Applicant shall attend the Investigating Officer from 10th to 15th October, 2022 between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon and thereafter as and when directed by the Investigating Officer. The said applicant shall not directly or indirectly try to influence the prosecution witnesses and tamper with the evidence. 5.

Application is disposed of.
