The petition seeks a limited relief of expediting the application which has been filed by the Petitioner with the Respondent No.2 Secretary Home Department seeking permission for reconstruction of a Masjid at Taluka Akkalkot Tal. Solapur on property bearing CPS No.1533 admeasuring 259.10 sq. mtrs. Learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner had received permission from the planning authority as well as the Waqf board. He submits that by virtue of the circular dated 7th May, 2018, the permission is required to be obtained from the Home Department, which permission was applied on 24th March, 2025. He submits that there is no decision which has been taken on the said application and tenders the communication dated 24th
916-wp-1118-2025.doc February, 2025 issued by the Police Inspector calling upon the Petitioner to forthwith take permission from the Home Department. 2.
By virtue of the Government Resolution dated 7th May, 2018, in order to curb the unauthorized constructions of religious places, the prior permission from the Home Department is made applicable for construction of the Masjid. Though, permissions were obtained from the planning authority, as well as the Waqf Board, an appropriate application has been filed on 24th March, 2025 in pursuance of G.R. dated 7th May, 2018 which has not yet been decided. 3.
Considering the nature of construction, the petition can be disposed of by requesting the Respondent No.2 to deicide the application expeditiously and in any event, within a period of four weeks from the date of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of.
