The petitioner-husband has filed present petition challenging direction to pay maintenance of Rs.2,848/- (Rupees Two Thousand Eight Hundred Fourty Eight Only) to the wife. According to the petitioner, his gross salary is Rs.45,000/- (Rupees Forty Five Thousand Only). Out of the said amount, he is required to pay amount of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only) towards GPF and insurance to the tune of Rs.6,000/- (rupees Six Thousand Only) and loan installments obtained by him for his house. He is residing in rented premises and is required to incur expenses of Rs. 5,500/- (Five Thousand Five Hundred Only) towards license fees. According to him, therefore, the total salary in hand is Rs.7,119/- (Rupees Seven Thousand One Hundred Nineteen Only).

Learned Judge, Family Court, Sangli by the impugned order directed the husband to pay 1/5th share of the amount of Rs.7,119/- to the wife and child. The amount of Rs.1,423/-

26-wp-14966-2022.doc (Rupees One Thousand Four Hundred Twenty Three Only) to the wife and equal amount to the son cannot be termed as unreasonable taking into consideration amount of salary earned by the petitioner. There is no merit in the petition. 3.
