P. C. :

1.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners.

2.

Though elaborate arguments are made by the learned counsel for the petitioners inviting our attention to the public interest cause which has been highlighted in the present petition, in the facts and circumstances of the present case, we find that as the Municipal Council by its letter dated 28th April 2025 submitted on 6th May 2025 and also on 20.05.2025 has already forwarded the necessary proposal for the Uday S. Jagtap 1 of

9-88-2025-PIL=.doc implementation of the scheme called "Maharashtra Suvarn Jayanti Nagarotthan Mahabhiyan", it would be appropriate if the respondent no.1 looks into the proposal and takes the same to its logical conclusion in accordance with law / policy within a period of six months from the date of communication of this order.

3.

Learned AGP points out that in fact the proposal has been forwarded to the respondent no.2. It is, therefore, imperative for the respondent no.2 to immediately look into the proposal and take appropriate decision or to forward the same to the respondent no.1 for enabling the respondent no.1 to comply with the aforesaid directions issued by this Court. The decision to be taken on its own merits in accordance with law. It is further pointed out that on page 81 of the paper book, technical sanction dated 28th February 2024 has already been granted by the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran to the said scheme. These are the matters which obviously will have to be looked into by the respondent nos. 1 and 2 while considering the proposal on its own merits.

4.

The PIL is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. [Ajit B. Kadethankar, J. ] [ M. S. Karnik ] Uday S. Jagtap 2 of
