By this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the Petitioner has assailed the externment order made under section 56 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner does not dispute that the order impugned in this petition is appealable under section 60 of the said Act. Admittedly, during the pendency of this writ petition, such an appeal is preferred by the Petitioner. The Petitioner's appeal is numbered as Appeal No.127 of 2015. In the circumstances, in our view this writ petition can be conveniently disposed of by directing the appellate authority to dispose of the Petitioner's appeal as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within the period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Ordered accordingly.
