Heard Ms. Dakshinamurthy, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Ms. Deshmukh, learned A.P.P, for respondent - State. 2.

Vide the present petition, the petitioner has made a limited prayer at prayer clause 13 (B), which is reproduced below; SHAILAJA SHRIKANT HALKUDE SHRIKANT HALKUDE Date: 2025.11.25 18:36:09 +0530

"B. The Hon'ble Court may graciously be pleased to expedite the hearing of the Regular Criminal Case No. 07/2023 pending before Hon'ble Judicial Magistrate First Class, Vaduj DistrictSatara registered based on C.R. No. 238/2022 registered with Pusegaon Police Station, District - Satara".

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an accused in C.R. No.238 of 2022 registered with Pusegaon Police Station, District Satara.

Ms. Mahalaxmi, learned Counsel for the petitioner further submits that the crime registered against the petitioner is a counterblast to the F.I.R vide C.R. No.237 of 2022 which was iled by his mother.

Learned Counsel would further submit that the petitioner was a meritorious student and has completed degree in Electronic Engineering with rigorous eforts. The petitioner is employed as Engineer in LTIMINDTREE Limited, Mumbai and has maintained an excellent service record. The petitioner further submits that he has bright prospects to travel abroad for service exigency as also for his future career. The Petitioner seriously apprehends that the pendency of above criminal case would stand as hurdle for him to secure visa and to travel abroad.

In light of this fact, the petitioner has made a limited prayer to direct the learned Trial Court to expedite hearing of Regular Criminal Case No.07 of 2023 pending before it.

Ordinarily, this court would be slow in directing the Trial Courts and the First Appellate Courts while levying any time frame for disposal of a case, for want of exact data of case pendency before such Court and the practical proceedings therein. 8.

However, for the reasons stated in the petition, we deem it appropriate to dispose of the petition with directions as follows; (a) Learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Vaduj, District Satara is requested make an endeavor to expedite the proceedings in Regular Criminal Case No.7 of 2023 pending before it.

(b) We expect that the learned Trial Court would conclude the proceedings as expeditiously as possible; and preferably within a period of eighteen months from the date of production of copy of this order.

We clarify that we have not commented on the merits of the case.

The petitioner to co-operate the Trial Court and shall not ask for unnecessary adjournments.
