We have heard learned AGP who opposed the petition and requested for some time to file reply. However, in our opinion, the petition can be disposed of.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner pointed out that the proposal has been submitted by the Grampanchayat Vairag on 18th February, 2019 to the Revenue and Forest Department, Mantralaya. It is the grievance of the petitioner that there is inaction on the part of respondent No.1-State for deciding the

920-wp-12194-2025.doc proposal for formation of the proposed Vairag Taluka. It is submitted that the revised proposal dated 28th January 2025 for formation of upper Tehsil was also submitted to respondent No.2 Collector of Solapur, and the same is pending decision. 4.

Petitioner is the Vice-president of the Vairag Nagar Panchayat. In our opinion, this petition can be disposed of by directing the respondent No.1-State Government to decide the proposal dated 18th February, 2019 as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from today. 5.

Further the respondent No.2-Collector is requested to decide the proposal dated 28th January, 2025 forwarded by the Subdivisional Officer, Solapur for formation of upper Tehsil submitted by the Grampanchayat Vairag as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of four months from the communication of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of.
