The learned Counsel for the petitioner states that the application filed by the petitioner under section 48 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 is still pending and the grievance of the petitioner would stand redressed at this stage, if the State Government is directed to decide the application within a time frame.

Since the prayer made on behalf of the petitioner is innocuous, we dispose of the Writ Petition with a direction to the State Government to decide the application filed by the petitioner under section 48 of the Act as early as possible and positively within a period of 4 months. The interim 1 / 2
