By the subsequent developments and particularly amendment of the statute granting a larger period or time to submit the Caste Validity Certificate, the issue raised in these

suresh 916-WPG-12901.2016.doc writ petitions is rendered infructuous. Now the petitioners having been protected by the amendment, as also they claim to have submitted the Caste Validity Certificate within the extended period, there is no immediate threat of their disqualification. The respondents would have to take cognizance of this subsequent amendment to The Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act brought by them and then consider whether the petitioners' case falls within the same. To our mind, the writ petitions have worked themselves out by such subsequent amendment to the statute. They are accordingly disposed of. Needless to clarify, nothing survives in the impugned orders after the amendment.
