Heard learned Counsel for the Petitioner.

A statutory appeal against the order of blacklisting has been iled by Petitioner on 15th September 2025 before the Regional Director of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Pune [for short "MSEDCL"]. It is the grievance of Petitioner that though the period prescribed for deciding appeal is 45 days, the said appeal has not been decided, which is causing prejudice to the Petitioner. Learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that it is only after 45 days are over, that the Petitioner has approached this Court. Patil-SR 1 of

Learned Counsel for the Respondent -MSEDCL, on instructions, submits that at least more eight weeks are required to decide the appeal.

We are not inclined to accede to the request of MSEDCL for grant of eight weeks time to decide the appeal. Considering the prejudice that is being caused to the Petitioner and having regard to the statutory framework, in our opinion, the appellate authority can be directed to decide the appeal preferred by Petitioner within a period of four weeks from today. Ordered accordingly.
