DATE :

11th FEBRUARY, 2015.

P.C. :

The applicant's previous application for bail was rejected by me (Bail Application No.440 of 2014, decided on 16th July, 2014). At that time, the court had directed the trial court to expedite the trial and complete it within the period of four months from the date of the receipt of the order dated 16th July, 2014, by avk 1/3

it. Now the prayer for bail is renewed on the ground that the trial has not yet commenced. The period of four months stipulated by this court is already over.

I have gone through the report received from the trial court. Charge has already been framed against the accused persons. The trial court has estimated that the trial can be completed within six months. In the circumstances, this period appears to be somewhat more.

It appears proper to direct the trial court to dispose of the case by completing the trial within a period of four months from today.

I am, however, not inclined to release the applicant on bail.

The application is rejected.

avk 2/3

The trial court shall, however, expedite the trial and complete it within a period of four months from today. The trial court shall report compliance to this court. (ABHAY M. THIPSAY, J.) avk 3/3
