I have heard both learned counsel. Perused judgment and order passed by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal ('The Tribunal' for short), Sangli.

The claimant has claimed compensation for damage of the vehicle. The Tribunal has awarded interest from the date of award. I do not find infirmity in it. In my view, the claimant was claiming damages of the vehicle. Hence, he is entitled interest from the date of award and not of filing claim petition.

In view of above, I pass the following order.

ORDER

Appeal is dismissed and disposed of.
