The challenge in these Writ Petitions is to the legality and validity of the order dated 31st October 2023, by which it has been declared that the respective Petitioner ceased to be 1/2

Learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioners states that the Petitioners have already filed statutory appeals under Section 40(2) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayat Act, 1959. and as the said appeals were not taken up for hearing, the Writ Petition is filed. However, after filing the Writ Petition, the Petitioners have received notice of hearing scheduled on 8th December 2023.

The Additional Commissioner, Konkan Division is requested to dispose of the said appeals expeditiously and in any case to dispose of the stay application filed in said appeals on or before 31st December 2023.

The Writ Petitions are disposed of in above terms with no order as to costs.
