The Applicant had challenged the Judgment and order dated 21/04/2022 passed by the Additional Sessions Judge, Sangli, convicting him u/s 377 of the Indian Penal Code and u/s 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. The major punishment imposed on him was for 20 years Digitally signed by MANUSHREE NESARIKAR Date:

Learned counsel, who is appointed through Legal Services Panel of this Court, submitted that the Applicant was extremely poor. He could not engage an advocate. He could not instruct anybody from his family to take steps in filing the Appeal and therefore there was delay of 518 days in filing the Appeal.

Considering these submissions, in the interest of justice, the delay in filing the Appeal is condoned. The Appeal be processed further.
