A.No.10 of 2023 Application No.10 of 2023 SENTHILKUMAR RAMAMOORTHY,J In a suit seeking injunctive relief and damages, the intending plaintiff seeks leave to sue the respondents before this Court.
2. Learned senior counsel for the applicant states that the matter is of utmost urgency since the respondents have unlawfully hacked into the systems of the applicant and are threatening to release confidential data relating to inter alia customers of the applicant. He also submits that the cause of action arose within the jurisdiction of this Court, where the registered office of the applicant is situated and the data is stored.
3. Upon examining the draft plaint and considering the above submissions, it appears that at least a part of the cause of action arose within the jurisdiction of this Court where the registered office of the applicant is situated and where the IT systems and servers are located. Consequently, the applicant is granted leave to sue the respondents before this Court. As a corollary, the Registry is directed to number the suit, if otherwise in order.
