ORDER

The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Section 4(1)(A), 4(1)(C) of TNP (Amendment) Act in Cr.No.206 of 2025 pending investigation on the file of the respondent police. seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 02.12.2025 at about 08.00p.m, when the respondent police was on regular patrol, they found that the petitioner was to be in possession of various brands of 84 liquor bottles and the same were sold to the general public for his personal gain. Hence, the complaint has been lodged against the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any such offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready and co-operate with the investigation and prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner is having 32 previous cases of similar nature. Hence, she opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record. 2/4

6. Considering the nature and gravity of an offence and the petitioner is having 32 previous cases of similar nature, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 09.01.2026 Vv To
