2. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioners have filed the writ petitions questioning the cancellation of the election by the first respondent. It is contended on behalf of the respondents that the tenure for which the election was conducted has long since lapsed. The issues raised do not survive for adjudication any more. Accordingly, these writ petitions stands dismissed. However the petitioners or anybody else who are eligible to participate, may participate in any election, if they so desire. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
