O R D E R
The petitioner has filed the present writ petition in the nature of mandamus seeking a direction against the 1st respondent namely the Revenue Divisional Officer, Guindy, Chennai to consider the application dated 23.08.2018 and pass final orders.
2. The petitioner is a senior citizen aged about 89 years. His wife had unfortunately pre deceased him. He has two sons 1/3
namely K.V.Sukumar and K.V.Vijayaraghavan and three daughters namely V.S.Radhalakshmi, K.V.Mallika, K.V.Ambika. He claims that he is the absolute owner of the properties at new No.17, old No.7, Balakrishna Salai, Mylapore, Chennai -4. He had also started a business in the name and Style "Ambika Apalam" in the year 1985. He is the Managing Director of the said company. He had purchased the property in the year 1984 form his own income. It measures about two grounds and 627 sq.ft., There is also a super structure. There is an another property at door No.253, Old door no.112, Bharathi Salai, Pudupakkam, Rayapettah, Chennai-14 which was purchased in the year 1967. There is a third property at door no.11/5, Old door No.66, Fakir Saheb Street, Triplicane, Chennai -5 which was purchased in the year 1968. There is a yet another property at door no.9/4, Old No.65, Fakir Saheb Street, Triplicane, Chennai - 5 which was purchased in the year 1971.

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition to consider the application presented before the Revenue Divisional Officer at Chennai under Section 2(k) of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. The 1st respondent had not taken any action which is highly regrettable.
4. In view of the above, a mandamus is issued to the 1st respondent namely the Revenue Divisional Officer, Chennai to immediately proceed with the said application dated 23.08.2018 and issue notice to the petitioner and also to any other individual who are concerned with the matters and grant them opportunity of personal hearing and also to submit documents, thereafter conduct an enquiry and and finally pass orders on or before 30.04.2020.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
