Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the fourth respondent to direct the fifth respondent to implicate the order passed by the first respondent in Na.Ka.No.1267399/K2, dated 31.08.2023. ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.R.Naresh Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.L.P.Mauriya, learned counsel for respondent 5.

2. Learned counsel for respondent 5 submits that the appropriate authority would not be the Mettur Municipality, but the Omalur Town Panchayat would be the appropriate authority.

3. In light of the above, the Executive Officer of the Omalur Town Panchayat is impleaded as respondent 6 in the present petition.

4. Mr.J.Ravindran, learned Additional Advocate General assisted by Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader appears for respondents 1 to 4 and the newly added respondent, respondent 6.

5. It is submitted that a communication is issued by the District Collector to the Revenue Divisional Officer for laying down the road and pathway facilities. Learned Additional Advocate General submits that respondent 6 would communicate with the Revenue Divisional Officer and would take further steps, in accordance with law, in that regard.

6. In view of that, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
