2022 and to select the petitioner on the basis of the marks in written examination and in interview comparing with the candidates who are given the benefit of weightage mark for teaching experience as per the Clause 13 of the G.O.Ms No.230, Higher Education (F2) Department, dated 06.10.2025 with all benefits.

ORDER

Challenging paragraph 14 of G.O.Ms.No.230, Higher Education (F2) Department, dated 06.10.2025 passed by the first respondent and Clause B of the Notification No.04/2025 dated 16.10.2025 passed by the second respondent insofar as the petitioner is concerned, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

Further, the petitioner has sought for a direction to the respondents to call the petitioner herein for interview to be conducted for the post of Assistant Professor in Government Arts and Science Colleges on the basis of the marks in Written Examination as per Clause 2 of para 10 of G.O.Ms No.246, Higher Education (F2) Department, dated 08.11.2022 and Clause B of the Old Notification No.02/2024 dated 14.03.2024 and allot 30 marks for interview as per Clause iv of 246 Higher Education (F2) Department dated 08.11.2022 and to select the petitioner on the basis of the marks in written examination and in interview comparing with the candidates, who are given the benefit of weightage mark for teaching experience as per the Clause 13 of the G.O.Ms No.230, Higher Education (F2) Department, dated 06.10.2025 with all benefits.

2. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that he applied for the post of Assistant Professor in Government Arts and Science Colleges issued by the Teachers Recruitment Board through Notification dated 14.03.2025, in which mode of selection is prescribed as per G.O. Ms Nos.246 & 247, Higher Education

Department, dated 08.11.2022. Thereafter, the Government of Tamil Nadu issued the present impugned G.O.Ms No.230 dated 06.10.2025 and the Notification No.045/2025 dated 16.10.2025 in order to implement the order of this Court dated 15.04.2024 passed in W.P.(MD) No.8127 of 2024. In view of the change in the mode of selection i.e., as per paragraph 14 of the impugned G.O. dated 06.10.2025 and Clause B introduced in the new Notification dated 16.10.2025, the freshers like the petitioner cannot get equal opportunity of employment as that of the experienced persons. Aggrieved by the same, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that though the petitioner has challenged the impugned G.O. dated 06.10.2025 in respect of paragraph 14 and Clause B of the Notification dated 16.10.2025, he would restrict the prayer and prayed this Court that it would suffice to issue a direction to the respondents to call the petitioner for interview, if he is otherwise eligible.

5. Per contra, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent Board submitted that call letter will be sent to the petitioner for interview as per rules, if he is otherwise eligible.

6. Recording the same, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
