ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the 1st respondent to grant educational loan of Rs.9,000,00/- to the petitioner without insisting for any collateral security.

2. Heard Ms. B.Saritha, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.V.Muralidhar, learned counsel for the 2nd respondent.

3. The learned counsel for the 2nd respondent bank would submit on instructions that the respondent bank is willing to consider the petitioner's representation seeking for educational loan if the petitioner's restricts his loan amount to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Rs.7,50,000/-. According to him, as per the Reserve Bank of India guidelines, the maximum educational loan that can be granted by any bank without any security is only Rs.7,50,000/-

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner on instructions would submit that the petitioner is willing to submit a fresh representation to the respondent bank seeking for an educational loan of Rs.7,50,000/- without any security.

5. After recording the rival submissions made by the learned counsels, this Court directs, the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the 1st respondent requesting the 1st respondent to grant an educational loan of Rs.7,50,000/-, without security, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the respondent shall consider the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks thereafter. It is however made clear that the petitioner will have to satisfy all other documentary requirements sought for by the 1st respondent for the purpose obtaining loan for a sum Rs.7,50,000/-, without any security.

6. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
