Respondents in both the writ petitions COMMON PRAYER; This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum for the delayed payment of Gratuity, Employees Provident Fund, Earn leave Salary and Commutation from the date of retirement to the date of payment to the petitioner within the time stipulated by this Honble Court.

COMMON ORDER These petitions have been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum for the delayed payment of Gratuity, Employees Provident Fund, Earn leave Salary and Commutation from the date of retirement to the date of payment to the petitioners.
2. The case of the petitioners is that they were employed in the respondent Transport Corporation and retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioners belatedly and the interest component has not been paid for the delayed period. In view of the same, the petitioners submitted representations to the respondents, to pay interest for the delayed period. Since the said representations were not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Transport Corporation would fairly submit that in view of the similar order passed by this Court in W.P.No.20622 of 2025, they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.
4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides.
5. In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of admissible terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioners within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
