Criminal Original Petition under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code praying to direct the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of SC & ST Cases, Cuddalore to complete the trial in S.C.No.40 of 2021 within a period of two months as mandated under Section 14(3) of the Scheduled Castes & the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 read with the Amendment Act, 2015 (Act 1 of 2016).

ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to direct the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of SC & ST Cases, Cuddalore to complete the trial in S.C.No.40 of 2021 within a period of two months 1/3

as mandated under Section 14(3) of the Scheduled Castes & the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 read with the Amendment Act, 2015 (Act 1 of 2016).

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the learned Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases registered under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Cuddalore to expedite the trial in S.C.No..40 of 2021 and complete the same within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and report before this Court after completion of the Trial. The Court below shall keep in mind the mandate under Section 14(3) of the said Act and shall complete the trial as per the mandate.

4. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
