The learned Additional Advocate General, appearing on behalf of the appellants, produced a communication forwarded by the Director, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Department, dated 29.07.2019 stating that the department is in the process of operating the backlog vacancies pertaining to the relevant panel for the post of Assistant Engineer in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.

2. Let the concerned department proceed with the preparation of the panel in consultation with the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. However, the panel shall not be operated without any specific orders from this Court.

3. Post the appeals on 16.09.2019.
