ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider and pass orders based on the representation of the petitioner dated 22.11.2025 and to provide electricity connection to the petitioner shop bearing Door No.18, Narayanappa Naicken Thottam, 10th street, old Washermenpet, Chennai-600 021.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is running a textile shop in a rented premises which belongs to the 3rd respondent for over a decade. However, due to some disturbances caused by the property owner / 3rd respondent, the electricity connection has been disconnected by the 2nd respondent on the ground of non payment of electricity dues. According to the petitioner, he has paid the entire electricity arrears as on 29.08.2025 and submitted the payment receipt to the respondents. However, the electricity connection was not restored due to the obstruction made by the 3rd respondent. Without electricity connection, the petitioner is facing great financial hardship in carrying his business activities. In this connection, he made a representation on 22.11.2025 to the 2nd respondent, seeking restoration of electricity connection. However the same has not been considered till date. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited relief sought by the petitioner, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner 22.11.2025 after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as the interested parties and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
