ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed by the petitioners for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to release the agricultural insurance amount to the petitioners pertaining to the year 2020-2021 based on the representation of the petitioners dated 16.5.2022.

2. Considering the narrow scope of the prayer made in the writ petition, without going into the merits of the matter, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent/District Collector, Nagapattinam, to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 16.5.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners. The entire exercise shall be completed by the second respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this

order. There shall be no order as to costs. W.M.P.No.2616 of 2023 filed to permit the petitioners to file a single writ petition is ordered.

3. We further grant liberty to the petitioner to submit a copy of the representation along with a copy of this order to the competent authority forthwith.
