ORDER

The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.12.2022 and direct the respondent to correct the error pertaining to the Document No. as 3402 of 2002 instead of 3404 of 2002 in the round seal from page No.1 to 14 in the petitioner sale deed dated 13.12.2002 vide Doc.No.3402 of 2002 with SRO Villivakkam.

2. The petitioner has got a registered sale dated 13.12.2002 duly registered at the respondent office on the same date, where the document number was assigned as 3402 of 2002 in book No.1 of the Sub Registrar Office, Villivakkam. After several years, now only it is noticed by the petitioner that in the original document while putting the round seal of the respondent i.e., Registering Authority, instead of making the document number as 3402 of 2022, it has been wrongly mentioned as 3404 of 2002. This is a mistake inadvertently taken place, therefore, in order to rectify the same, the petitioner had given representation on 17.12.2022 and in order to consider the said representation and do the needful, the petitioner has moved the present writ petition with the 2/5

aforesaid prayer.

3. Heard Mr.P.Chandrasekar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.N.Senthil Selvi, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

4. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that, if a mistake really has occurred due to inadvertence, rectification would be made by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 17.12.2022 within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition and having regard to the said submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following order: That there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.12.2022 and pass necessary orders on merits and in accordance with 3/5

law within a period of four(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 05.01.2023 Index : Yes/No Speaking order: Yes/No mp To The District Registrar, Anna Nagar Sub Registrar Office, Nolambur Combined Sub Registrar Office, No.576, Mogappair West, Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai - 600 037.
