Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate Police protection for performing "URS" festival and other religious ceremonies to be held between 20.01.2025 to 23.01.2025 in the burial place of Late Hazrat Faizee Shah Noori, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 03.12.2024.

ORDER
The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate Police protection for performing "URS" festival and other religious ceremonies, to be held between 20.01.2025 to 23.01.2025 in the burial place of Late Hazrat Faizee Shah Noori, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 03.12.2024.
2. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
3. It seems that there is dispute between two rival groups regarding the conduct of the festival. Further, the said festival is being conducted every year and the festival is being conducted for the last 20 years. In the year 2007, dispute arose between the two rival groups. The petitioner had approached this Court and obtained necessary orders for Police protection for conducting the above said URS festival for the past many years.
4. According to the petitioner, he made representation before the respondents-Police on 03.12.2024 itself, but he had not received any communication from the respondents.
5. Considering the fact that there are two rival groups and the said festival
is being conducted every year, it is the duty of the respondents-Police to extend adequate protection for the URS festival to avoid any law and order problem.
6. Hence, the respondents-Police are directed to consider the said representation, dated 03.12.2024 on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing all concerned and pass appropriate orders, at the earliest.
7. With the above observations and direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
