ORDER

By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.11.2024, in respect of the petitioner's promotion to the post of Assistant Professor and Professor with effect from 26.11.2012 and 26.11.2016, respectively.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University. On 18.03.2010, the petitioner completed the Ph.D. Program with Half Teaching and Research Assistantship (HTRA) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai and was awarded a doctorate degree. Thereafter, the petitioner was promoted to the post of Associate Professor and Professor with effect from 26.11.2018. Further, the petitioner requested the respondent to consider his promotion to the post of Associate Professor with effect from 26.11.2012 and consequently, promotion to the post of Professor with 2/5

effect from 26.11.2016 onwards, on par with the named persons, similarly placed with his experience. However, the respondent did not consider the said period. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent on 29.11.2024, but as it did not evoke any response, it has necessitated the filing of this Writ Petition.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider the case of the petitioner and pass orders.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent will consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.11.2024, in accordance with law, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

Considering the limited relief sought for in the petition, without expressing any opinion on merits of the writ petition, the respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 29.11.2024 made by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
