PRAYER: This Habeas Corpus Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus to call for the records relating to the detention order in No.1262/BCDFGISSSV/2024 Dated 18.12.2024 passed by the 2nd respondent under the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 and quash the same and direct the respondents to produce Velazhagi, aged 68 years, W/o.Manivannan, who is presently confined in the Special Prison for Women, Puzhal, Chennai before this Honble Court and set him at liberty.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner, as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, by producing a copy of the Government Order in G.O.Rt.No.485, Home, Prohibition and Excise (X) Department, dated 31.01.2025, submitted that the detention order has already been revoked.

2. Recording the said submission, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands dismissed as infructuous.
