ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondent to complete the investigation in the case in Crime No.05 of 2019 dated 13.08.2019 and file the final report within the stipulated time.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed on record.
3. A perusal of the status report filed by the first respondent and on the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the first respondent revealed that the petitioner is one of the victims in Crime No.5 of 2019 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC. In view of the gravity of the offence committed by the accused, viz., there are more than 5000 depositors and the accused had collected more than a sum of Rs.30 Crores from the victims and cheated them, the FIR registered in Crime No.5 of 2019 has been transferred to the file of the Economic Offences Wing, Chennai. On receipt of the same, now a new FIR has been registered in Crime No.02 of 2024 and it is pending for investigation.
4. Therefore, the second respondent has been impleaded by this
Court, by an order dated 11.03.2024. Therefore, the second respondent is directed to direct the Investigating Officer of Economic Offences Wing to expedite the investigation and to file a final report as expeditiously as possible.
5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
