ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to transfer patta in favour of the petitioners in respect of their lands situate in Udumbiyam Village, Veppanthattai Taluk, Perambalur District by considering their joint representation dated 28.03.2013.
2. According to the petitioners, they have purchased lands comprised in various survey numbers measuring total extent of 27.24 acres in Udumbiyam Village, Veppanthattai Taluk, Perambalur District and they have been in possession and enjoyment of the properties. The petitioners purchased the properties from various parties from the year 1974 and now they have joined the aforesaid lands and formed a Layout after obtaining
permission from Udumbiyam Panchayat Union and No Objection Certificate dated 18.09.2009 was also issued by Udumbiyam Panchayat Union to that effect.
3. It is the case of the petitioners that patta in respect of the aforesaid lands still stands in the name of the vendors of the petitioners herein. Therefore, they approached the 2nd respondent for transfer of patta in respect of the aforesaid lands in the name of the petitioners and gave a representation on 28.03.2013 requesting them to transfer patta standing in the names of their vendors into the names of petitioners herein. However, the respondents, without taking action on the representation of the petitioners, kept the same pending till date. Left with no other alternative, the petitioners have filed the present writ petition.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
5. This Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 28.03.2013 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
