The petitioner has filed this writ petition in the nature of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to dispose of the petition dated 14.11.2018 filed by the petitioner under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act & Rules 2007.
2. It is stated that the petitioner herein, aged about 74 years had given a complaint before the second respondent viz., Sub Collector, Thiruvallur District under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act & Rules 2007, complaining about his son viz., D.Krishna, who has been impleaded as third respondent.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that no action has been taken against the complaint dated 14.11.2018 filed by him before the second respondent, since the officer, who conducted enquiry, had been transferred before orders were passed.
4. Now, the Sub Collector/District Revenue Officer, Thiruvallur District, who was taken additional charge viz., Mrs. C.Vidhya, has issued summons to the petitioner and also to the 3rd respondent to appear for enquiry on 16.02.2020 at 11.00 A.M. in the office of the District Revenue Officer, Thiruvallur.
5. In view of the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to conduct an enquiry in the manner known to law, after giving sufficient opportunity to the petitioner and the third respondent and thereafter, pass orders with reasons on or before 31.03.2020.
6. With the above observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No cost.
