Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.12.2024 and take necessary appropriate steps to remove the encroachments made on the G.N.T. Road by way of installation of religious statues and political statues and thereby protecting and maintaining the road free from encroachment. For Petitioner :

[Order of the Court was made by M.SUNDAR, J.,] After some arguments, Mr.M.Nambirajan, learned counsel on record for writ petitioner sought leave of this Court to withdraw captioned main 'Writ Petition' {hereinafter 'WP' for the sake of brevity, convenience and Page Nos.2/5
clarity} but made a plea to preserve all rights and contentions of writ petitioner to file a 'Public Interest Litigation' {'PIL'} (this is considering the nature of representation dated 16.12.2024 on which main WP is predicated). Saying so, learned counsel has made an endorsement in the case file and a scanned reproduction of the same is as follows: In the light of the narrative thus far, captioned WP is disposed of as closed / withdrawn albeit preserving all rights and contentions of writ petitioner to file a PIL, if so desired and if so advised. There shall be no order as to costs.
