Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to provide or set up public library and give permission for construction of temple in the land measuring 2500 sq.ft. in Survey No.284/1A of Nerkundram Village, which is front face of Vinayagapuram layout, i.e., areas of Vinayagapuram and Nesammal Nagar by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.08.2024 within a time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court and inform about the same.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) It appears that a representation was made on 27.08.2024 addressed to all respondents.

2. The prayer primarily is to give directions to respondent No.2. As no reply has been received from any of the respondents, this public interest litigation came to be filed on or about 02.01.2025.

3. On 24.04.2025, none of the respondents, despite Government Orders issued, have even bothered to reply. Therefore, we direct, each of the respondents to acknowledge the representation of petitioner within one week from today and take a decision on the representation on or before 30.05.2025.

4. Respondent No.1 will enquire as to why the representation of petitioner was not responded to and initiate disciplinary proceedings against any officer responsible for the lapse.
