O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to direct the first respondent police to provide police protection to the petitioners.

2. The petitioners were studying in Selvam Arts and Science College, Namakkal District and it is stated that they were in love with each other and got married on 01.03.2018 and registered the marriage. Now, it is the apprehension of the petitioners that their lives are under threat from their parents. Therefore, the first petitioner has given a complaint, based on which petition enquiry in C.S.R.No.13 of 2018 is being conducted by the Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Rasipuram. It is seen that the petitioners belong to two different castes.

3. In view of the above, the Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Rasipuram, is directed to contact the parents of the petitioners and conduct an enquiry in C.S.R.No.13 of 2018 and ensure that no harm befalls the petitioners. It is brought to the notice of this Court that on the complaint lodged by Kannagi, the mother of the first petitioner, the petition enquiry is pending in C.S.R.No.65 of 2018 before Thottiyam Police Station, Trichy District.

4. In the opinion of this Court it may not be advisable to send the petitioners to Thottiam Police Station. Hence, the Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Rasipuram is directed to contact the Inspector of Police, Thottiyam Police Station and conduct the enquiry in C.S.R.Nos.13 of 2018 and 65 of 2018 in Rasipuram itself and ensure that no harm befalls on the petitioners.

5. With the above directions, this petition is disposed of. The Miscellaneous Petitions in Crl. M.P. Nos. 6154 and 6155 of 2018 are dismissed.
