ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 8 % per annum for the belated payment of retirement benefits for the period from 30.06.2024 to 02.12.2025 i.e., 521 day, on Provident Fund, Gratuity, Leave Amount, Commuted Pension, and other retirement benefits within a specified time, and to pay the Earned Leave Surrender amount for the month of May 2019 with interest at the rate of 8 percent per annum.
2. Ms.S.Pavithra, learned counsel appearing for the first respondent. Mr.C.S.K.Sathish, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner, who had joined the services of the first respondent Corporation, had already retired from service, however, the terminal benefits have been settled belatedly. Therefore, the
petitioner claimed 8% interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits and she has also made representations to pay interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits which has not been evoked any response so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
4. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the limited request made by the petitioner with regard to interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits, this Court directs the respondents to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of terminal benefits of the petitioner, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order taking into account the bank rate of interest on deposits.
6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
