ORDER

O.S.No.133 of 2013 was filed by the daughters of one Silamban seeking a declaration and permanent injunction. The said suit was dismissed on 16.07.2025. When the petitioner sought to register the decree, the request was rejected under the impugned refusal check slip.

2. Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice for the sole respondent. He submits that the request was refused because Survey Nos.230/2 and 229/1 do not find place in the online records of the Registration Department. He clarifies that this is on account of subsequent sub divisions.

3. If the petitioner were to obtain a correlation certificate, it would be possible for the registering officer to ascertain the corresponding sub division numbers of the asset described in the decree.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:

4.1 The petitioner shall obtain and submit a correlation certificate to the registering officer in respect of survey numbers mentioned in the decree; 4.2 Within two weeks from the date of receipt of such correlation certificate, the registering officer shall register the decree subject to fulfillment of other requirements in relation to registration. There shall be no order as to costs.
