The contempt petition is filed to punish the respondent for willful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 03.04.2019 passed in W.P.No.13099 of 2018.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent furnished the copy of the letter dated 15.04.2021 issued by the Joint Secretary to Government, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, wherein it is stated that the petitioner is eligible to get the Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity Benefit, and the file is under active consideration to issue amendment to Rule 7,8, 9 of Tamil Nadu Village Assistant Pension Rules, 1995. As the process will take few more weeks to issue final orders, the Joint Secretary requested time to pass final orders.

3. However, the fact remains that the grievance of the petitioner is redressed and actions are initiated to grant benefit.
