The Writ Petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 1st respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 18.12.2024 and take steps to sub-divide the land purchased in s.no.20/1b in Uthangarai SRO, Kedakkaranor Village, Uthangarai Taluk, Krishnagiri District, measuring an extent of 2 cents and issue patta in favor of the petitioner ." 2/6
2. The petitioner is the absolute owner of the property comprised in S.No.20/1B situate at Kedakanoor Village, Uthangarai Taluk, Krishnagiri District, by virtue of document bearing Doc.No.6752/2024, on the file of the SRO, Uthangarai, having purchased the same from one Mr.T.Guganathan vide the sale deed dated 14.10.2024. On the very same day, an application was made by the petitioner in Application No.2024/0105/31/613500 before the Registrar to subdivide the land and issue separate patta in favour of the petitioner, for which fee has also been paid.
3. Thereafter, a representation was made by the petitioner on 16.10.2024 to the respondents to consider and take appropriate steps to issue patta in his name. The respondents have not taken any steps on the same. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner is before this Court.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has made an application on 16.10.2024 to the respondents to sub divide the land and issue patta in his favour. However, the said 3/6
representation has not been considered. He would submit that by an oversight in the prayer portion, the extent of the land has been shown as 2 cents, whereas the property in question measures 2 acres. Therefore, he requested the Court to pass an order in respect of the lands measuring 2 acres.
5. Heard the learned counsels on the either side and perused the records.
6. Considering the limited request, a mandamus is issued to the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass an order, in respect of the lands measuring 2 acres, within a period of 4 months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. The Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
