ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pay the interest to the petitioner at the rate of 8 percentage per annum for the belated payment of retirement benefits for the period of 30.6.2024 to 2.12.2025 i.e.521 days on provident fund, Gratuity, Leave Amount, commuted pension, and other retirement benefits, within a specified time.
2. The case of the petitioners is that he was employed in the respondent Transport Corporation and retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioners belatedly and the interest component has not been paid for the delayed period. In view of the same, the petitioner has submitted a representation to the respondent to pay interest for the delayed period. Since the said representation was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Transport Corporation would fairly submit that in view of the similar order passed by this Court in W.P.No.20622 of 2025, they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.
4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides.

In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of admissible terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioners within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
