Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the affidavit filed therewith the High Court will be pleased to extend time for completing the 8th to 9th schemes to the Honble Nodal officer in Crl.O.P.No.14672 of 2018 dated 18.06.2018 Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.E.C.RAMESH, Advocate for the petitioners, and of M/S.T.SHUNMUGARAJESWARAN, Govt. Advocate (Crl.Side) on behalf of the Respondent, the court made the following order:- This petition has been filed to extend the time granted to the Nodal Officer in Crl.O.P.No.14672 of 2018 by order dated 18.06.2018 for completing the 8th and 9th schemes.

2. This Court by order dated 18.06.2018 had appointed Hon'ble Mr.Justice G.M.Akbar Ali, former Judge of this Court as a Nodal Officer / Commissioner to complete the process of settling the depositors by taking effective steps pursuant to which, he had taken up the work and as on date, out of the 10 schemes floated by the accused, depositors in 8 schemes have been settled.

3. It is reported by the Investigating Officer that process is going on and the Nodal Officer / Commissioner has been taking effective steps to settle the depositors in the remaining two schemes with the assistance of the revenue officials and other members of the committee and the possibility of settling the depositors is bright.

4. The Nodal Officer has filed a report dated 30.11.2020. The report is taken on record.

5. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the petitioners who are the wives of Patchiraja/the main accused, who is no more, have been assisting the respondents in settling the depositors. He would submit that effective steps have been taken to settle the depositors in the other two schemes.

6. In view of the above, a further period of six months time is granted to the Nodal Officer/ Commissioner, to complete the process of this case and to settle the depositors as directed by this Court by order dated 18.06.2018.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is ordered.
