This writ petition challenges the award under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen Act, 1981.

2. When the writ petition was taken up for hearing, Mr.Anand Gopalan learned counsel appearing for the petitioner Management would bring to my notice that the dispute was raised by totally 41 workmen. The authority had granted the relief to 38 workmen and dismissed the petition insofar as the remaining are concerned. He would state that out of the 41, 38 have settled the matter and have left the management of the writ petitioner. That leaves out three workmen. I adjourned the matter to today to find out if the matter is settled.

3. Ms.Ramapriya Gopalakrishnan learned counsel appearing for the respondent Union would bring to my notice that the Union is not agreeable to any settlement. However, Mr. Anand Gopalan has produced three letters from the following workmen viz., Selvaraju, Ramachandran and Rasathi stating that they are not interested to pursue their claim.

4. Therefore, the writ petition is closed recording the statement of 2 / 4

Mr.Anand Gopalan. In case the workmen want to continue with the claim, liberty is granted for them to file an appropriate application before this Court. With the above observation, this writ petition is closed. No costs. 28.06.2023 Index : Yes/No Speaking Order / Non-speaking order KST To 1.Deputy Chief Inspector of Police Erode.
