Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to refix the salary at basic pay of Rs.37,400 in the pay scale of Rs. 37400 - 67000 plus 60 percent dearness allowance in terms with the promotional order dated 20.4.2013 and consequently direct the respondents to pay the arrears of salary with yearly increment and other attended benefits from 20.4.2013 to till date and also to provide him Job Security in the future.

The petitioner is at present working as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry in the second respondent College. The petitioner earlier served as Assistant Professor and thereafter re-designated as Associate Professor from 20th April 2013. The petitioner states that he has not received the revised salary as Associate Professor right from 20.04.2013 which he is entitled to receive. He made several representations in this connection. Since the same evoked no response, he has come up with the present writ petition.

2.This Court also heard Mr.M.Vijayakumar, learned counsel, who took notice on behalf of the first respondent. 3.It is the specific claim of the petitioner that his pay has not been revised with effect from 20.04.2013. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court deems it fit to direct the second respondent to consider the representation dated 11.08.2017 made by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
