Petitioner, who was arrayed as accused was arrested on 13.04.2016 for the offences punishable under Sections 170, 328, 393 and 397 of IPC in Crime No.352 of 2016 on the file of the respondent police, seek bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that on 13.04.2016, at 11.45 a.m., the petitioner visited ICICI Bank, Tirupur Branch and posing himself as a police official, he informed the Bank officials that he is inclined to deposit the Election raid amount of Rs.4 crores with him and that a new account has to be opened in the Bank. Also stating that it was his birthday, he distributed Cakes to the Bank officials. When the Bank Officials asked for his Identity Card, the petitioner immediately left the Bank. But, the Bank Officials who consumed the Cake, had vomiting sensation and giddiness and they were admitted in Hospital. On the suspicion that the petitioner had poisoned the Cake with a malafide intention to steal from the Bank, the Bank Officials registered a case against the petitioner.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner belongs to a reputed family and he is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case.
4. Learned Government Advocate [Crl.side] submitted that the petitioner had introduced himself as a Home Guard to the Bank officials and told them that he is inclined to deposit a sum of Rs.4 Crores and when the petitioner was asked to show his identity card by the Bank official, he served the cake with a fraudulent intention to cheat them.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of offences alleged against the petitioner, I do not find any ground made out for grant of bail. Hence, this petition is dismissed.
