ORDER

By order dated 02.11.2016 passed in the above WP No. 37573 of 2016, this Court, directed the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.10.2016 seeking fixation of his seniority in the cadre of Assistant as on the date on which he was promoted/transferred to the post of Assistant namely 29.09.1988 with all consequential service and monetary benefits and to pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law and also as per G.O. Ms. No.108, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department

dated 26.10.2015 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this R. SUBBIAH, J Order. Complaining non-compliance of the said order order dated 02.11.2016 passed by this Court in WP No. 37573 of 2016, the petitioner has come forward with this contempt petition.

When the contempt petition is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents produced a copy of the Order passed by the first respondent in Letter (1D) No.342 dated 25.07.2017 rejecting the claim of the petitioner.

In the light of the above compliance, this Court is of the view that no further order is required to be passed in this contempt petition. Accordingly, the contempt petition is closed. No costs. It is open to the petitioner to challenge the order dated 25.07.2017, if he is aggrieved, in a manner known to law. 28-07-2017 rsh To
