Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation dated 11.8.2017 made by the petitioner, followed by the representation dated 11.12.2017, made by the petitioner for demolition and reconstruction of the compound wall and the school building of Semmedu Middle School, Semmedu, Gingee, Thiruvannamalai Road, Villupuram District.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This writ petition has been filed seeking orders on the concerned respondent to repair the school building of Semmedu Middle School, Semmedu, Gingee, Thiruvannamalai Road, Villupuram District.
2. According to the petitioner, the school is in completely dilapidated condition and in fact, classes are being held out side.
3. There can be no doubt that all schools should be maintained in safe waterproof and wind-tight condition. School buildings ought not to be left in such a condition as may pose a risk to the students, who attend the school.
4. After hearing the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader (in-charge), the writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to treat the writ petition as representation of the petitioner and to take a decision on the representation at the earliest, preferably within two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If as contended by the petitioner the school is in a dilapidated condition and is posing a danger to the students who attend the school, necessary steps shall immediately be taken to repair/re-construct the school. A copy of the writ petition along with his earlier representation shall be forwarded by the petitioner to the second respondent. No costs.
