Mr.K.T.Devendran, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The petitioner seeks for mandamus directing the respondent to consider his application dated 22.02.2018, wherein and whereby, he sought for granting Patta in his favour in respect of Plot No.124 (Part) Door No.3, Old No.15/107, 1st Main Road, Srilakshmi Nagar, Mettukuppam, Alwarthiru Nagar, Chennai600 087, measuring to an extent of 2226 sq.ft comprised in S.No.375, Nerkundram Village, Maduravoyal Taluk, Thiruvallur District.

4. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that the said application has not been considered so far. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the respondent to consider and decide the same. Thus, this writ petition is disposed of, only with a direction to the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 22.02.2018, after hearing the petitioner as well as the rival claimants and other interested persons, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
